What an exciting week this is for crafters…it’s Crafter’s Companion 11th Birthday and I’ve been invited to take part in the celebrations, I’m so excited!!!  The birthday week is jam packed full of new launches, special offers and give aways. To find out more, just click on the Facebook page or have a look at the birthday brochure here.

As part of the celebrations, there is going to be a birthday blog hop…a bit like playing pass the online parcel!Blog Hop[129].jpg

The birthday blog hop starts at 12pm on Thursday 20/10/16 and it finishes at 9pm on Sunday 30/10/16. When the music stops, you will be asked to go and visit a specific blog and leave a comment during the time period given: for example, The music has stopped on Angela’s Blog – she now has the parcel and will have it for the next two hours between 2pm and 4pm! Go and comment to WIN! From the commenters, a winner will be chosen…lucky duck! They will win whatever has been made and showcased for the birthday blog hop.  It’s exciting!!!

If you’re lucky enough to win please email details of your address to socialmedia@crafterscompanion.co.uk , who will arrange for your prize to be sent out (within 2 weeks)  Please keep checking on the blogs and Facebook to see if you’ve won

I’ve been asked to make a ‘parcel’ for the game using some of the new birthday week sewing launches, if you take part in the blog hop you may be lucky enough to win my ‘parcel’…I adore it!!!

I’ve been busy having fun with the brand new Debbie Shore flower dies…they are fabulous!

Now I know that sewing is my main hobby but I’ve always enjoyed crafting of most types. I’ve really loved making my own little bundle of flowers out of felt…and glue! Not a sewing thread in sight for this project and it was so much fun…apart from the sticky fingers!

I used the Threaders felt pack collection as I wanted to make really colourful flowers.I also used the Collall felt glue, I’ve not used this before and it was really quick and simple to use.http://www.crafterscompanion.co.uk/felt-glue-100ml.html

I used my Gemini die cutting machine to cut out a whole bundle of flowers using the Daisy, Rose and Peony dies (my favourites). They cut out really well without any fuss!

Once the glue had dried I used florists wire to make stems for each individual flower…that bit took a little while! Then I got a little bit creative and made my vintage style flower jug overflow with beautiful blossoms! Just to add a little bit of bling I added a few beaded bits and a butterfly for a final flourish…I love it!

If you’d like to have a go at making your own flowers, all of the supplies are available on the Crafter’s Companion website

I can’t wait now to use these flowers on actual sewing projects…watch this space!

Good luck in the blog hop!

Happy crafting, x

  7. Crafting with fabric is my absolute first love in Crafting. I love tgevease that these beautiful flower dies have yo offer. Seriously my bank account needs to grow. I love these so much. My Anna taught me sewing and quilting when I was 7 years old. I still craft with her to this day, and these dies are a time saver. Plus with her age now her hands aren’t quite as steady as they used to be si having theses means less cutting for me and more crafting for she and I.

  8. Wow what a beautiful bouquet. I do a lot of fabric and paper crafting. This is a lovely idea. I make paper crafting flower arrangements all the time. Tried to make an fabric one but broke my dies. Then being that I have arthritis I couldn’t cut the flowers by hand. So these dies will give me back my power. I felt so depressed when I wasn’t able to cut the fabric into flowers. So I really love and need these dies!
